Riding Lessons
Benefits of Riding Horses for kids & adults!
Companionship
When kids start riding, their interest in the horse grows creating an understanding about the nature and behavior of the horse. Additionally, kids start owning their responsibility of horse care, and the horse begins to show affection and abide by his rider’s commands in turn. Over time, this companionship with horses helps kids to develop loving and caring attitudes for both animals and fellow humans.
Tiny Tot Riding Lessons
These are fun rides on a little pony or miniature horse. The rider will ride in a purpose-made saddle along with the animal being led at all times. Parents will need to walk next to the animal for extra support. Parents must wear closed-toe shoes. There will be around 15 minutes or so of riding.
Mini Riding Lessons
These are to introduce our young riders (4-7yrs old) to horses. Riders are started on a lead to ensure their safety. Taught the beginning basics of riding. When the instructor feels it's time for your rider to be off the lead they can move up to private 30min+ lessons.
Introductory Riding Lessons
This lesson is for first time riders at WRA. We'll intorduce the rider to the academy and our riding program. Insturctors will go over the basics and more. Lesson includes 30 minutes of ride time during the 45minute lesson. This lesson type is for one on one instruction. No additional riders.
30 Minute Riding Lessons
These are one on one lessons with an instructor. ThIs is 30 minutes of ride time. The rider must have long pants, a helmet and boots with a smooth sole and a min of a 1in heel. If rider doesn't have a helmet or boots we have them for free rental or our tack store Air Capital Decor and Tack has them for sale. You can also add additional riders to these lessons. on the booking page!
60 Minute Riding Lessons
These are one on one lessons with an instructor. ThIs is 30 minutes of ride time. The rider must have long pants, a helmet and boots with a smooth sole and a min of a 1in heel. If rider doesn't have a helmet or boots we have them for free rental or our tack store Air Capital Decor and Tack has them for sale. Couples Riding Lessons
These are for a couple to take a lesson together with an instructor. ThIs is 45 minutes of ride time. The riders must have long pants, a helmet and boots with a smooth sole and a min of a 1in heel. If riders don't have a helmet or boots we have them for free rental or our tack store Air Capital Decor and Tack has them for sale.
Family Riding Lessons
These include up to 3 riders. You can add on additional riders below. NO experience needed, littles must be 5yrs or older! We provide boots & helmets, wear long pants.
These are special lessons for families to spend time together & make memories that last a lifetime.
*Please refrain from booking if you aren't a family.*
Horsemanship Lessons
(NO RIDING) Does your horse seem like it is lacking manners when you lead it around? Run off rather than coming to you? How to get a horse to follow in liberty, no lead ropes, no halters, then Horsemanship is for you! This is a class starting your horse all ages from the ground. Get to know your horses personality aka left brain, right brain, introvert or extrovert and how to properly train these characters rather than fighting them. This class is also a good start for any age to understand horses.
Classroom Lessons
These are perfect for inclement weather conditions when you still want to learn and proceed in your riding skills but it's too cold to do so.
You will be one on one with your instructor and will be taught things that will help you become a better rider.
This can also be used as a time to sit one on one with your instructor to discuss anything you'd like.
Kennenlernstunden auf der Reitschule Wichita!
Diese Reitstunde ist für Erstbesucher der Reitschule Wichita. Wir stellen den Reitern unser Schulprogramm und unseren Stall vor. Reitlehrer gehen mit euch über die Basis und mehr. In dieser 45min Reitstunde, ist eine Reitzeit von 30min inkludiert. Diese Reitstunde ist eine Kennenlernstunde für Einzelpersonen. Es können keine weiteren Reiter hinzugefügt werden.
